Diamond powder and suspensions
ApplicationsDiamond is used for grinding and (surface) machining of various materials. Typical examples of industries are; watches, electronics, tools, precision parts and off coarse for ceramic parts.
Why use diamond?Diamond is the hardest material and is therefore suitable for machining softer materials. It is harder then other materials and nowadays are the prices competitive.
Why use diamond from Ceratec Technical Ceramics?Ceratec represents Microdiamant Switzerland; see www.microdiamant.com. -largest player on this market, this companies developments its selves continuous -more accurate grain distribution then from other suppliers -specials possible (custom made) -extended service possible (questions, visits are possible).
When do we apply synthetic or nature diamonds?Nature diamond is less available. Synthetic diamond is made artificial and in most cases there is no difference in grinding result between nature and synthetic diamond. Synthetic diamond is however better priced.
Mono crystalline or poly crystalline diamond?
Mono crystalline diamond is one grain. It does not break predictable. Small and larger parts will influence the grinding result. Poly crystalline consists out of more grains. When the load is high, the grains break into small parts (grains) which will not influence the grinding result.
Why use ready made suspensions?You will get a ready to use professional mixed reproducible suspensions; water, glycol or oil based.
What do we supply?Powders are sold in carat (1 carat=0, 2 gram), packaging is per 100 carat. The suspensions are per ml, typical packaging is 250 ml or 1 litre. Next to bottles we supply syringes with mixed paste.
Are there new developments?There are applications (especially smaller grain sizes) were the diamond grains agglomerate. We supply so called "GAF” (Guaranteed agglomerate free) suspensions, water based.
AssortmentDiamond powder and suspensions are available. The suspensions can be supplied in various compositions;
Example suspension: WA-32/1900 MSY 10-15
